Cursed Vision from His Infernal Realm is a raw and uncompromising release from Los Angeles black metal band Resuscitator, capturing the band at its most feral and confrontational. The album channels late-90s underground black metal through harsh vocals, cold tremolo riffs, and relentless percussion, prioritizing atmosphere and conviction over refinement.

Lyrically and sonically, the record explores inner darkness, opposition to imposed belief systems, and visions drawn from a personal “infernal realm” rather than orthodox mythology. The production remains deliberately abrasive, reinforcing the album’s claustrophobic and hostile tone.

Cursed Vision from His Infernal Realm stands as a document of its era—unyielding, primitive, and sincere—marking an important chapter in Resuscitator’s history and laying the groundwork for later evolutions beyond traditional black metal.

Warrior’s Death, the final release from Resuscitator, marks a darker and more mature chapter in Resuscitator’s evolution, pushing beyond raw aggression into a heavier, more deliberate black metal sound. The release carries a grim, martial atmosphere—cold riffs, crushing tempos, and relentless percussion evoking the final stand of a fallen warrior facing inevitable extinction.

Thematically, Warrior’s Death reflects on mortality, conflict, honor, and decay, stripping away romanticism to expose death as both fate and release. Less chaotic but more oppressive than earlier work, the album balances brutality with atmosphere, allowing tension and weight to dominate. It stands as a testament to Resuscitator’s growth and resolve, capturing the spirit of underground black metal rooted in struggle, endurance, and defiance until the final breath.

Two different recordings exist of this album. Displeased Records was sent a rough mix of this release. Displeased records unfortunately made the rough mix the official release, along with the low-resolution logo. The Displaced Records release features the vocals from Sacbe, while the original intented released featured the founder's vocals, Summoner.

Although both of these recordings do not have final mix, you can now listen and hear the difference in vocals as well as drums.

With Warrior’s Death, Resuscitator reached the end of a defining chapter. Following the release, founding member Summoner lost interest in continuing the band, bringing its original vision to a close. Although Sacbe continued writing music, it became clear that the evolving ideology, themes, and lyrical direction no longer aligned with Resuscitator’s identity.

Rather than force a continuation, Sacbe chose to move forward independently. From this creative and philosophical separation, In Darkness was born—marking a departure from past frameworks and the beginning of a new project centered on cosmic perspective, existential darkness, and the rejection of inherited belief systems.
